A REDEEMED FAMILY

a redeemed family - blog

Jesus came from an unusual family - a family that today would probably be called a "merged family." This was the most unusual merged family. The firstborn was the son of Mary and of the Holy Spirit, and the four brothers and two sisters were children of Mary and Joseph.

But there were whispers of a scandal in the back streets of Nazareth. Jesus was illegitimate; there was something unusual aboutHis birth.

This was a family with tensions. And these tensions erupted when you read in the Scripture that neither of His brothers believed in Him. But out of the strangeness, out of the unusualness and tension of this merged family, the Lord brought redemption. He brought redemption such that His mother Mary knelt at the cross and waited in the upper room for the coming of the Holy Spirit. He brought redemption such that His half-brother James believed on Him and was named the bishop of the church of Jerusalem; he was even later beheaded for the name of Jesus.

God can take our families with their brokenness and failures and patch them up in a redemptive way.

The great thing about our Lord Jesus Christ is that there is always a place to begin again. There is a place to begin again and to declare Jesus Christ as Lord, not only of your heart and mind but also of your home.

Prayer: God, I pray that today You would redeem and heal my family. I want You to be the Lord of my home today. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

How can good win in a world where so much goes wrong? What can end the flood of destruction that sin has unleashed? To this, Jesus hung upon a cross and declared “It is finished!”

No matter what we do or accomplish, death comes for us all, ignoring our will to go on, and insulting the lives we have lived. But love has come, and God will have the last laugh!

"The tyranny of control demands that you manage the outcome of your life, not God. Surrendering your dreams doesn’t mean you give up hope; rather, you shift authority."

Real forgiveness has no memory. It does not shut other people into the locker of their past mistakes. It makes room for a genuine fresh start

God wants to bring blessings out of our brokenness. He is a loving provider whose power is limitless. People and things will fail us, but God's security and strength abide forever.

There is far greater power available to you when you bless the name of the Lord in the midst of confusing circumstances and glory in the Lord when everything is blowing up in your face.

God's wisdom is so far above our human understanding that we consider it foolishness. For centuries, humanity has tried to make sense of this world with philosophies and theories because it could not grasp the Truth of God. Only God's wisdom will lead us on the right path.
